We loaded the Yukon a couple of weeks ago to take Kyle and his friend, Jordan, trout fishing in Wilson Creek near Mortimer, NC. The fishing was pretty good. Each of them caught 10-12 trout ranging in size from 8-14". It is a catch and release stream this time of year so no fish dinner tonight. Oh, the snow was from the December snow and the temps that day were in the upper 30's. They had gone fishing the previous weekend when the temps were in the mid teens and had such a good time, I took them back. This time, their net didn't freeze when they pulled it out of the water and the tips of their rods didn't ice over.
I decided that while they were fishing, I could get a little rest but instead, I did a little hiking and wandering around taking a few photos with Bonnie's Canon G9. (Her point and shoot "mom camera" as she calls it) It does a pretty good job for something you can put in your pocket. Anyway, here are a few photos from our fishing trip. The bottom photo is the old Mortimer Mill.

It has been a while since we've updated the blog so get ready to see new posts soon.
I just received an email from Kerry and Joy Reeves, our missionary friends in Haiti, and thought I would share it with you. We photographed their family in June just before they left for the summer in Haiti. What a precious family and so willing to do what God told them to do. The older children stayed stateside but the younger ones are all in Haiti with them. If you would like to keep up with them in Haiti, go to their blog: newvisionhaiti.blogspot.com/

The photo is a little small but here is the email:
Hey Guys,
Here is a picture of how we displayed our family pictures for now. Joy did not want me to put holes in them or anything else. It looks good on the wall. It’s actually a hammock we bought on a mission trip to Mexico one time.

Welcome 2010! We are excited to see what the new year has for us!

The annual production of The Promise at Tri-City Baptist Church has been a part of our family traditions every year since it started. Kyle was a baby then and we have a photo of me (in my costume) holding Heather when she was just a toddler. I have not been in The Promise since that first year, choosing now to sponsor and photograph the production for the church to use in advertising and church materials. Heather has now become a part of The Promise. She is in most of the scenes and is having a great time meeting people and being a part of this great ministry.
We have an online gallery of images from 2 of the dress rehearsals that you may view and purchase if you would like to have copies for your scrapbook. Go to our website www.shanegreenephoto.com and click on the Sessions tab at the top. The session ID is: promise09_tcbc

Here are a few photos. This is Heather in the pink and purple in the right center.

What a wonderful morning to photograph Skylar's riding lesson - sun shining, and a touch of coolness in the air. For her birthday portraits she wanted photos taken with her favorite pony. A special thank you to Allison Porter at Allwin Farm for allowing us to photograph.
